History
Nevill Business Machines Inc. was founded in 1975 as an independent Singer Calculator dealership which would later transition to IBM and Panasonic typewriter sales and maintenance. In the early 1980s, Nevill began offering a full line of Mita copiers and opened the Dallas Canon PC repair center. The company would prosper during the 90’s reaching sales revenues of $2 million dollars.

During this time, a young ambitious salesman was working his way up the corporate ladder and would eventually purchase 50% of the company - his name was Reed A. Melnick. In 1998, together with founder J. Travis Nevill they would form Nevill Imaging Solutions and open a new office in Ft. Worth, Texas. Later that same year, they would make their first (of many) acquisitions in the Dallas marketplace.

In 1999, Nevill purchased Remco Office Machines, a 27-year-old Dallas Company, adding Canon and OkiData to the product line. By 2001, the company had expanded into South Texas with locations in Corpus Christi, Harlingen, McAllen and Laredo. Nevill was now promoting the Kyocera Mita brand of copiers, printers, fax and multi-function devices. Today, they are the sixth largest Kyocera dealer in the nation.

In 2002, Nevill expanded it’s operations into Reynosa, Mexico servicing Fortune 500 customers in Reynosa, Matamoras and Nuevo Laredo. Nevill continued to grow acquiring well-established businesses such as Copiers Now, The Patterson Company, The Copier Company, and Digitec, to name a few. The company also decided to expand their e-commerce market share.

In 2004, Mr. Melnick became sole owner and Nevill boomed to $12 million in sales and an impressive Dun & Bradstreet Rating of 3A1- one of the highest in our industry. Nevill even has its own financing arm with customer leases to nearly a million dollars.

In 2010, Nevill began to introduce exclusive, new information-technology tools such as “Nevill Knowledge” and the “Nevill Wizard”. These unique tools separate Nevill from its competition. They can provide comprehensive evaluations of a client’s needs (using Nevill Knowledge) and a written plan (through the Nevill Wizard) to increase productivity, reliability and reduce cost.

In 2011, “Nevill Knowledge” is proactivly serving over 10,500 devices. By years end, Nevill has partnered with Canon USA to provide “tier one” products to meet demanding high-end corporate needs.

Nevill Imaging Solutions continues to be recognized as one of Texas’ fastest growing companies with estimates for total company revenues to top $16 million dollars by the end of 2012.

Reed Melnick: CEO
Reed Melnick: CEO, Nevill Business Machines Mr. Reed Melnick has a thirty-two year background innovating successful document solutions for customers, large and small. His resumé includes a successful tenure at Advanced Imaging Systems as sales manager for nearly a decade, helping AIS became the 9th largest Ricoh dealer in the nation. Mr. Melnick would move on to an Executive Sales Management postion with Zeno Systems in Irving Texas, and later recruited to Danka Business Machines as Branch Manager. He quickly grew to become their North Texas Regional Manager, with responsibilities that included managing over eight branches and 300+ employees. Many say Reed Melnick was instrumental in making Danka a household name in North Texas. He went on to acquire 100% of Nevill Business Machines in 1997 and has continued to lead the way in the document solutions field. With Mr. Melnick, promises made are promises kept, and being the best is the only way he and his 120+ employees know to provide total customer satisfaction. He expresses openly that the major reason for his success is based on the honest relationships that he maintains with his clients and suppliers.


A dedicated father and husband, Reed loves his wife Yvonne, daughter Roslyn, sons Drew and Quinton, as well as his five step children, and his miniature Pomeranians. His home life is nearly as busy as his career! He now has residences in both Upland California and Carrollton Texas.

Mr. Melnick has won many awards and prospered in a career anyone would be proud of.
