Nevill Imaging Solutions: Award-Winning Dealer Relies on OMD

Nevill Imaging Solutions is known for being an award-winning office equipment dealer. The Kyocera / Sharp dealership has won the OfficeDEALER Elite Dealer award the last ten (10) years in a row, as well as the Kyocera Diamond / Premier Dealer Award for the last twelve (12) consecutive years. It’s a business that is reaping the rewards of good business practices and smart decisions.

Reed Allan Melnick has owned the Kyocera / Sharp dealership since 1997, and the company has been thriving ever since. Nevill now has seven locations and has even made an acquisition this year. The company is an authorized dealer of products from Kyocera, Sharp, HP and KIP.

Nevill chooses OMD to run its business, and has for over 15 years. Earlier this month, Nevill signed a long-term commitment with OMD and plans to continue using the software as its business management software for many years to come. Melnick appreciates the direct value OMD offers in correlation to his goal of “Platinum Level” customer service, “Our goal is to deliver the fastest service possible and the OMD/ECi platform permits us to accomplish this. We utilize OMDNet web base tool to allow our customers to manage their account. They can place a service request directly into OMD and through the MWA interface, our technicians are able to receive service requests as soon as they are entered. This improves customer satisfaction and reduces response time.”

Michael Mills, COO and CFO for Nevill, has been with the company for over two years and uses OMD regularly. He sees the value of ECi partnering with OMD to better the software. “On the ECi side of the equation: what we’re interested in and what made us sign a long-term, multi-year agreement with OMD is that we like the financial commitment that ECi has made to re-write the software,” explains Mills. “We love the way it is now, but we know that eventually products wear out, and we’re looking forward to the new product. I don’t know that OMD had the money to do that themselves or it would have taken forever. The software has improved tremendously since ECi. We think ECi has the finances to help re-write the software to get it to the next level.”

Mills also says that since ECi acquired OMD, the changes have been positive. “The two major changes for us were the accounts payable and the contracts. The change in contracts, reverse billing, and being able to reset contracts automatically, just saves tons of hours every month.”

Mills says that he’s a generalist on the software, but he has several experts at Nevill that know the system really well. He says that they are enjoying many of the new features of the software. And he likes the data that OMD provides and how easy it is to perform data analysis with the information that OMD provides.

“OMD collects all of that data for us in the right format so we can look at it,” he says. “We dig into OMD and use it to run our business every day.”
